Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, Bryn Mawr President Jane McAuliffe, and a host of other luminaries gathered at the National Constitution Center Saturday to honor Jane Golden, executive director of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, with the 2009 Katherine Hepburn Medal in recognition of her tireless efforts to build community through public art, engage at-risk youth, beautify the city and work toward social justice. The Katharine Houghton Hepburn Center of Bryn Mawr College will award the 2009 Katharine Hepburn Medal to Jane Golden, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, in celebration of the programs’ 25th anniversary. The award ceremony to be held at the National Constitution Center on February 7, 2009. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6, and the program will begin at 7:30, to be followed by coffee and dessert.
