Date: Sunday, November 2nd
Time: 6-7:15 pm
Place: Bettws-y-Coed 127
The 12 undergraduates who received Hepburn Center Summer Internships in 2008 will be meeting four times this year to talk about their internship experiences. The second of these meetings will be on Sunday, November 2nd in BYC 127 at 6 pm. Over the course of the year, each student will give a Power Point presentation about her internship (which will be downloadable from the Hepburn Center website). There will also be time for discussion about all aspects of the internship experience, including selecting possible programs and sponsors, preparing the application, interviewing, finding housing, getting acclimated to the internship, confronting challenges, and maximizing the internship experience. We will also discusss commonalities and differences among the various programs where this year’s Hepburn Center interns worked. To get a preview of the event, check out the Hepburn website (http://www.brynmawr.edu/hepburn/interns/index.shtml) and click on each intern’s name, which will take you to her bio and photo.
Speakers for this Sunday’s meeting include:
Francesca Marangell (Project Health)
Jessica Coulter (N Street Village, Washington, D.C.)
Ashley Mallon (Bozeman Birth Center, Montana)
The Hepburn Center plans to offer about 20 internships in the Summer of 2009, so students who might be interested in a 2009 internship in one of the Center’s mission areas – film/theater, women’s health, and civic engagement – are especially encouraged to attend the Internship Forum.
